+| Drugs: Why not fill yourself with something that can give you a fake sense of security, confidence, or superiority? I mean as long as you are happy, who cares what other people think? Remember, it is all in your mind. No matter what they say, where they lock you up, in the end it will be your fault, and your fault only. If you are winning in your mind, you could be burning to death with maggots eating at your skin, and you could still feel as if you've accomplished something. Get a drug habit and die.

"I guess I'd most like Bomp to be remembered as a label utterly dedicated to the people who care most about music: the fans and collectors.".....
This from Bomp!/Disaster Records/Alive Records..
We have some very sad news to report-- Bomp's founder, Greg Shaw, died on Tuesday, October 19, from heart failure at the age of 55. Greg's lifelong devotion to discovering, raving about and releasing authentic -albeit obscure- rock & roll, and promoting rock fandom over four decades was extraordinary. Among his many accomplishments were fanzine publisher, magazine editor, band manager, author, indie label owner, and rock historian. Though his roles often varied, two things were absolutely consistent: his impeccable taste in music and the ability to be there first.

Though we grieve for him now, please know that Greg's legacy is the Bomp/Voxx records he was so proud to release, as ever they will be in print and available to inspire music lovers everywhere through the efforts of his business partner, Suzy Shaw, and Alive/Total Energy's Patrick Boissel.

If Jesus Drove a Motorhome I've been reading a lot about musicians and other artists protesting Bush and/or the war. Here's a link to a video that I found interesting both for its content and its execution.

I like it because, although it definitely has something to say about Bush and company (check out the infinitely creepy praying mantis monster at the end), it doesn't restrict its message to I hate Bush. Instead, it kind of holds everyone responsible for their part in encouraging hatred and violence.

Anyway, I thought it was an interesting approach and one I'd not seen before.

Nikki Sixx says "Don't hold your breath". ..waiting for a Motley reunion tour. Some promotors created a video speculating a tour in 2005 even going so far as putting a message at the end of the video saying to watch VH1 December 6th for a BIG announcement. Fingers will stay crossed.

Social Distortion ripped it up last night... at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. The opening bands "The Explosion" and "Tiger Army" were not our faves. But the wait was worth it when Mike Ness took the stage with his cool Rock & Roll swagger. With his guitar slung low he ripped into "Ring of Fire" which set the mood for solid in your face rock that was consistent throughout their set. ..... [more inside]

Put some fairy dust on the bastard! An unknown studio engineer made a huge contribution to the world when he recorded this juvenile squabble among the members of a British Invasion band.
