EVERYONE KNOWS CORPORATE RADIO SUCKS!!!...
but maybe Alice Cooper will help bring back good FM stations and the
all but lost format of "free form radio". Alice says that 90% of all
his emails are people not wanting to hear the same Van Halen song and
not wanting to hear the same AC/DC song. Later in the article he talks
about being Alice gives him a certain amount of authority when choosing
songs off albums.
"I have a story about everybody I play. And I don't treat them with
much reverence," Cooper says with a laugh. "I treat them like my
friends! So if Eddie Van Halen was here right now, he would beg me not
to play 'Pretty Woman.' He would ask me to play another track that
nobody ever hears ... There's a certain amount of Alice authority that
I have, that people can't argue with -- or at least, they can have fun
with it."

Mojo-Navigator the beginning of music journalism as we know it and the late Greg Shaw who left us with Bomp! started it all. Very interesting reading for any music fan. Rockmine Archives has preserved each issue in pdf format.
Howling Diablos have just released CAR WASH on Alive Records and if you are a fan of gritty grungy smokey nightclub blues this cd will not disappoint. The music drives the vocals and the vocals drive the music all through this cd. As some of you may have figured out, I review music as I listen to it..for the first time. Bands either hook me on the first listen or I file it away. This cd is getting a slot in the MusicFilter cd jukebox for sure. They hooked me on the first song, "Car Wash". Tino Gross sings like the blues vet he is and the band has got incredible tone that a lot of "blues bands" seem to lack. [more inside]
The Truth sounds more like early Rage Against the Machine than Limp Bizkit. Right click and save target as. But..its obvious that Wes Borland is the guts of Freds band.
Man-Raze is made up of one part Def Leppard and one part Sex Pistols. Phil Collen and Paul Cook have formed a band that also features Simon Laffy of Collens old band Girl before he was in Def Leppard. Song samples have been posted on their site and they are self described as metal/punk.

Tommy Ramone ...the sole surviving original member of the Ramones has traded in his drumsticks for mandolin, banjo, guitar and dobro, which he plays in the alternative countrypunkbluegrass duo Uncle Monk. "There are a lot of similarities between punk and old-time music," Ramone tells Billboard. "Both are home-brewed music as opposed to schooled, and both have an earthy energy. And anybody can pick up an instrument and start playing."
