Wesley WIllis in hospital Wesley Willis was a street performer in Chicago for many years before being discovered by various well known people in the music biz. His songs are simultaneously disturbing, hilarious, blunt, and intoxicating. WESLEY's sheer excitement and unaffected honesty about every cultural phenomenon, from a city bus ride to McDonald's, coupled with a refreshingly wacky sense of humor, define his music as truly individual. In 1989, Wesley was diagnosed as schizophrenic; [more inside]

No Fun in Iraq.
"Because democracy has a few problems, mate, and the Sex Pistols know
that, but at least we can shout out about it, and that might be of some
use to them." - John Lydon on how he intends to define democracy to the
people of Iraq by playing a concert there.

Duane Peters has a movie about his bad self...... Check out the trailer to the upcoming DVD release of "Who Cares...The Duane Peters Story" which is due out by the end of this summer. DUANE PETERS is a skateboarder with serious cred. He's generally acknowledged as the guy who consumated the union of punk rock and skateboarding, taking it from a la-la cruise by nerdy longhairs whose music of choice was the Eagles into the full-blown tough guy hardcore punk scene it is today. Here is a cool tribute to his skateboarding ability here. Check out some way cool downloads of The Hunns here. [more inside]

Kids are learning musical improvisation, and it's got nothing to do with jazz
Eminem's movie 8 Mile raised consciousness of the art of freestyling,
but the Internet has taken it to new levels. Some might be surprised at
the talent. There's audio -- check out Crazy Craze's patois-infused "Suffering" or Cadaver's Smoke Session to get a sampling of the audio prowess.
And the text brings metaphors in stampedes - they "raise the bar, like forklifts on the set of cheers."

Jesse Jordan is one of four students who were sued by the RIAA for copyright infringement. He was able to raise a $12,000 settlement in only six weeks by solicitating donations on his website. The response was so overwhelming that he had to ask people to STOP donating to him and start donating to Princeton student Daniel Peng, who owes a $15,000 settlement. So far half has been collected.

The Sex Pistols are coming to a town near you... and they picked the Reverend Horton Heat to open up for them on a few dates. The last time we saw RHH was last year when we followed Nashville Pussy around for a while. Not that I would tell Johnny what to do but he would have been better off getting NP to open even though they are a real hard act to follow. [more inside]
Ragga-core:
Reggae and metal? Think they don't go together? You'll probably change your mind, after taking a listen to the new track released by Coolie Ranx, who used to front New York City's Pilfers.
The Pilfers are gone, but, to the delight of us fans, it looks like the ragga-core style they pioneered lives on.
