The Unsatisfied will be making its way to Altanta on July 2nd, at The Star Bar show us how rock is meant to be played. Eric and the boys have had a lot going on lately. The band has recently updated its website to a new look which features a working store where you can buy merchandise online. The groups long awaited new album, "Way to the Crumbs" is currently being mixed 'old school' and the band recently found a new drummer.

According to Dischord Records.... Nike has stolen the artwork from a Minor Threat record to use in a new Nike Skateboarding ad campain. They changed the words from Minor Threat to Major Threat. Just another example of huge corporations fucking the little guys. Decide for yourself and if you want to help the cause then send Nike an email and complain. Nike should NOT be the ones that is associated with skateboarding when kids today are learning about it.

Billy Corgan put out a full page ad in the Chicago Times announcing that he plans to bring the Pumpkins back. Say what you will about this guy but Melon Collie and the Infinate Sadness is one of all time greatest Lps in my opinion. Hopefully he will shy away from the sappy shit and bring on the hard noise like he used to.

The Sex Pistols will play at Live 8 on July 2nd. Steve, Glen and Paul all agreed to do the show quickly but Johnny took the week to think about it before finally agreeing. I wonder who will play first, the Spice Girls or The Pistols. I'm speculating that Johnny will more than likely have a few choice words for the other bands playing the festival when he takes the stage.

Patti Smiths Meltdown is what this years Meltdown Festival emcee has named the event. Last year the New York Dolls got back together just for Morrissey who happened to be the bands fan club president in the 70s. Pretty cool but Patti Smith is doing something as cool or much cooler this year. She has teamed herself up with acts such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with support from Hank Williams III, Steve Earle, and Cat Power. On Sunday 26th June.... [more inside]
2005 interview with Richard Hell
Interviewer:
"As a poet now, Richard Hell is perhaps not as good as he could have
been had he not spent upwards of twenty years playing music."
Richard Hell:
"Fuck you. If you want to say something like that, say it to my face.
You don't hear me making claims about how "good" my poetry is, but who
the fuck do you think you are? All this writing of yours is presented
as if you're a person called upon to make judgments from some position
of earned respect. That's not who you are. You're a callow kid with a
job reading slush for a pretentious irrelevant "poetry" magazine. You
sought an interview from me, I was kind enough to grant it, and now
you're being an asshole by exercising some grotesquely deluded
misapprehension that your role in this includes some call to fucking
critically assess my skills. Also, it was not twenty but ten years I
spent with bands."
