Go Kart go up against the RIAA.... Go Kart Records have decided to go against the RIAA and offer tons of free music on their website . MTV even picked up on the story, as did P2P. Read Go Kart's open letter to the RIAA here.

I hear they were allowing the download of this entire CD before their server got flooded out.

...from GO KART.....
"Has everyone at Go-Kart finally gone insane? Well, probably, but thatĺs beside the point. As indicated by IDG (International Data Group), ôMP3ö has replaced the term ôsexö as the most popular search category on the Internet. This emphasizes how important MP3 technology has become in recent years, especially since file sharing and p2p (peer to peer) websites like Napster opened up a new direction in music distribution. By reacting with raised CD prices instead of seizing the opportunities offered by new technology, the music business has largely slept through this new trend. So, rather than blame declining sales on digital piracy like the music industry has been doing, Go-Kart has decided to take the bull by the horns and use these new ideas to their fullest potential. MP3s are a symbol of the music industryĺs future, and itĺs about time that musicians and record labels began looking forward instead of just trying to cover their own collective asses!"
